Green Lizards are a common species of Lizard. They are one of the first Lizards the player may encounter and can be found throughout many regions. They are slow and lack the mobility of most other Lizard species, but they are heavy and resilient, making them a formidable threat.
Green Lizards have a 50% or 1/2 bite lethality rate.
Green Lizards come in various shades of green, ranging from lime to mint. They have black bodies which usually feature short, stubby spikes or are otherwise plain. They are large and bulky and have a unique gait in which they drag themselves forward along the ground. Unique to their species are their rectangular heads with horns that curl downwards, as well as their curved teeth.
Tips
Combat
Fighting Green Lizards can be fairly easy on level ground, though their high health means they can take 5-10 Lanco hits to kill. A hit to the face with a Rock can stun and flip them over, leaving their soft body vulnerable to Spears. After 3 Spear hits, they typically attempt to retreat to their den. They are slow, making it hard for them to flee and thus leaving them open to further attack. However, they have a strong bite and can be dangerous if faced when ill-equipped.
Their charge attack can be evaded by paying attention to the attack's visual and audio cues; the hissing wind-up gives ample time to move out of the way.
Evasion
Green Lizards are slow and clumsy, making it easy to jump over them or outrun them in a straight line. They also cannot climb, so staying on poles or elevated platforms is generally safe. However, they may still use warp dens to reach places seemingly inaccessible to them. Green Lizards also have a blind spot directly in front of them, seemingly in their mouth, which can be used to touch a Green Lizard without being attacked, but is risky as if the lizard moves back or charges they will be able to land a bite.
Abilities & Behavior
Green Lizards lack the movement abilities of most other Lizards. They are incapable of climbing poles or walls, and their movement speed is comparatively slow.
Green Lizards have the lowest visual radius out of all Lizards. They are completely unable to see Monaĥo while they are crouching.
Although Green Lizards are afraid of Vultures, they are not afraid of Vulture Masks, instead being temporarily pacified by them. King Vulture Masks cause them to flee as normal.
Green Lizards cannot be harmed by other Lizard bites, Worm Grass, direct Centipede shocks, and Brother Long Legs, and they are capable of escaping from Pole Plants. They can still take damage from tamed Lizards and underwater Centipede shocks.
Charge Attack
While most Lizards can charge, Green Lizards have a stronger charge attack, signaled by a windup during which they hiss before lunging forwards and biting. However, Green Lizards often perform this attack even if they are on lower ground compared to prey, or may even charge off a ledge and miss. If they miss, it disorients them for a brief moment, leaving them vulnerable. Green Lizards can charge much more frequently than other Lizard types. While charging, a Green Lizard's mouth is always open, leaving the inside of their mouth vulnerable to Spears.
Mass
Green Lizards are heavier than all other Lizards, excluding the Inv-exclusive Train Lizard. As a result, they are immune to other Lizard bites.
Taming
Green Lizards have the lowest taming difficulty, typically requiring 1-2 feedings.
Once tamed, they attempt to follow Slugcat and fight off threats. Due to their high rivalry rating, they are very aggressive towards any other Lizards, even other tamed Lizards. They are particularly aggressive towards other Green Lizards. They are very durable and are useful to tame despite their limited mobility.
Green Lizards are most notable for their large, bulky size and uniquely square-shaped heads. They appear in a range of greens from lime to mint. Their heads, bodies, and tails may also vary in size.

The latter scenario is rather rare to come by, as Green Lizards do not spawn in any of the same campaigns that Strawberry Lizards can without lineaging.
Green Lizards have the second strongest base damage per bite and second highest health, the first in both categories belonging to the Red Lizard.
Green Lizards are equal in health to Caramel Lizards. The latter however has a much weaker bite damage.
Green Lizards are much faster in water in comparison to other Lizards, but are rarely found near it.
Green Lizards are very aggressive towards other Lizards, particularly other Green Lizards. This is due to their high "aggressive rivalry" stat, and they have the second highest inter-species aggressiveness in the game, beaten only by the Red Lizard.

Green Lizards tend to be lazy, and may let prey get close to them or jump on their backs without lunging.
Additionally, creatures that are directly in front of a Green Lizard's head cannot be bitten by them.
When falling, Green Lizards attempt to grab on to poles, despite being unable to climb them.
Green Lizards with high energy values may attempt to climb poles when chasing prey.
Green Lizards are more afraid of regular Vultures than King Vultures, even though regular Vultures do not prey on them.
