admins

Why does it seem like candlesign is the only dev who responds in here?

That's why I became an admin! The others used to be active and no longer are, or at least not in this wiki... apart from Axolittle, but they are also an admin for the Discord server and so on, so they understandably don't necessarily have much time.

Not that it matters too much. Admins only have the administrative power needed in some occasions (deleting pages, managing user rights, editing global wiki settings), but no general authority, no additional weight or importance - when it comes to editing pages, discussing here or on talk pages, everyone can contribute the same way to the wiki!

spawns

I kind of doubt this is possible, but could we make it so that each slug cat has its own map showing where creatures spawn?Mee3eep (talk)

These maps exist! https://henpemaz.github.io/Rain-World-Interactive-Map https://rain-world-map.github.io They're linked to in a few places like the Regions or Lineage pages, sometimes even with links to specific rooms as in Bugs. It would be nice to somehow embed them into the Regions page, but we haven't managed to find a way yet...

reputations

on every page for creatures, we should have how to increase and decrease the reputation for that creature, as well as what they act like at higher and lower reputations.Mee3eep (talk)

Hmmm "reputation" is a little too specific because it's about how much a community likes you, which only applies to a few creatures ; it's true that a more general section about relationships would be interesting though.

Oh and about that - we need to be careful about which creatures actually do have dynamic relationships or not! For example, unless we missed something, I don't think Miros birds can ever act differently towards you, whatever you do.

I think (not entirely sure) that they're reputation changes to "harassing" at higher levels, but since they're definition of "harassment" is biting, the only difference is being as likely to go for eachother as you. profile pictures

Since there are 7 overseer colors (yellow, blue, green, red, white, purple, and the arena exclusive black), and 6 moderators, all the moderators could have a unique profile picture while still having overseer pictures. Mee3eep (talk)

Make the Map page unlocked

Glitch!

I'm having trouble because a glitch while following Overseer's guidance.

I keep getting stuck on a side of a pole. I've tried every control and I can't move.

lizard taming page

a page dedicated to taming lizards, including stuff like the neutral rep general feeds required to tame, what foods lizards eat, maybe even the advantages and disadvantages of each lizard as a companion. either that or do what the lizard page itself does and do quick overviews of each. if not a page dedicated to lizards, maybe a section in the reputation page? just somewhere to have a general lizard taming hub. additionally could include info like how to increase global lizard rep or roughly how many lizards must be tamed/how many times a lizard must be fed for positive lizard rep high enough to have lizards not aggro. seperately preferably, since the methods are different

anyways i just really want to dump all my obtained lizard taming info somewhere in the wiki and only doing a little bit to cyan has rekindled this desire.

Help on editing Karma flower

Does anyone know how to remove the asterisk on karma flower in areas that hunter can't reach? (i.e Outer Expanse)

Oh this is a good point, it has now been added! Inside a RegionCreatureTable, you can now add "-NoH" after "Karma Flower" to remove it.

precycle/failure

So I've been looking around the wiki, and there are a lot of region spawn maps that say PreCycle. Some say Shelter Failure, and I know this is a small issue, but should we fix it to one? If so, which one? Bent is broken (talk) 01:34, 14 May 2023 (UTC)

Late reply but this is intentional. Shelter failure is a noun, while precycle is used as an adjective. I.E, the creatures that spawn during a shelter failure are called precycle spawns, because they spawn exclusive to before the actual cycle begins. Astralslygcat (talk) 19:42, 30 May 2023 (UTC)

Do we have to buy rain world (the og version) before buying rain world downpour? Is it like an extension or a separate but related game?

Yes, Rain World must be purchased before Rain World: Downpour. While Downpour is an official alternative universe, it still does use Rain World as a base to tell its story! Bewilderbark (talk) 05:38, 6 November 2023 (UTC)

Karma translation error

After publishing the translation for Hunter's starting karma amount it leaves "<᠌span id="Karma:_Karma 3">" text above the line. You can see it here Охотник. What is this and how to fix it? Javstva (talk) 12:58, 13 November 2023 (UTC)

It did this again on Artificer's page... And I would guess this will be the case for every slugcat page. Really need help on this one. Javstva (talk) 06:26, 15 November 2023 (UTC)

Sorry I haven't gotten back on this-- I'm not sure if this is a bug in the Translate extension we use or not, but I can double-check. The extension always adds in link anchors so that the anchors work even on the translated pages (for example, we have Survivor which will still work on Выживший) but this is definitely messing up with the karma templates. I've actually wanted to replace the way we do these lists so they aren't actually section headers, which mess up things in other ways, but this definitely feels like a bug.

RW language page?

I think there should be a page on the rain world language/symbols and their meanings. The karma page has some info, but it doesn't cover it in full, and there are more symbols than just the karma symbols. Trying to guess the meanings of all of them would be highly speculative of course, but it would be nice to have a page that just has all the glyphs shown in the game/achievements and where they're shown. I just find the language interesting and there's not a lot of info about it online. Archeneby (talk) 18:28, 16 February 2024 (UTC)

I do like this proposition! Where it stands speculative information isn't something we have on the wiki (see the lore misconceptions running around from the old 2017 Lore page) But the glyphs would be pretty interesting to document if just to have the sprites available. Maybe a page like Glyphs ? As for speculation and documentation there is actually this google doc from the Discord that might be an interesting read for you :]
