Sky Islands is a challenging region made up of broken mechanical structures high above the ground. The region is optional but is commonly visited in the lategame when playing as Monk and Survivor. It is the starting region of ✔️DLC Saint.

Overview

Sky Islands is a largely aerial region with open-air rooms and wide gaps between platforms. Most rooms in this region have death pits. Some especially wide gaps require holding and jumping with a Squidcada to cross. Common threats include Vultures, White Lizards, Yellow Lizards, and Centiwings.

Much of Sky Islands appears as an array of rectangular platforms, or alternatively, large, linear spaces. Sky Islands takes place in various open air environments dominated by an orange haze, as well as various metallic chambers and enclosed shafts. Towering navy blue plant life grows on the surface of Sky Islands, alongside Popcorn Plants. In ✔️DLCDownpour, Dandelion Peaches can be found at higher altitudes. A long hallway can be found near the Karma Gate to Farm Arrays, harboring a large quantity of Yellow Lizards.

A room adjacent to the hallway houses an Echo.

    Points of Interest

    1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 These Pearls are meant to replace the pool of dialogue that the original two Pearls had, now only requiring a single playthrough in order to get all of the dialogue.

    Tips

    • The section to the left of Communications Array, which connects the two halves of the region, features jumps that are too long for the player to complete under normal circumstances. The area before these jumps is full of Squidcadas, which can help the player traverse the area.
    • If traveling from the other direction (i.e. coming from the Shelter on the left most part of the map), the area can be crossed by performing an extended crouch jump.
    • Background-climbing Lizards in Sky Islands can easily be made to fall to their death by hitting them with Rock. This can also cause said lizards to lineage.

    Subregions

    Communications Array

Communications Array is a subregion located high above Sky Islands, reaching up into the clouds. The Dark Blue Pearl can be found at the highest point of the region. Scavengers, White Lizards, and Vultures are able to travel to this subregion. As Hunter, King Vultures can also access this area. Rain is nonlethal in the room at the very top, making it possible to survive there indefinitely.

    Trivia

    • Rainbows have a chance to appear in certain rooms at the start of a cycle.
    • Sky Islands has the lowest number of rooms in-game, only beaten by ❌DLC Chimney Canopy and followed by Drainage System.
    • In room SI_D05, there is a small pillar to the very right. Climbing to the top as Saint causes them to hover mid-air.
    • As ✔️DLC Rivulet, Sky Islands contains the Bonus Pearls, a uniquely-colored Pearl which is handled identically to a generic Pearl.
